Previously I posted about how that Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens was going to record previously unrecorded material from the late metal god Ronnie James Dio. And I basically had a metalgasm when that was announced.
Now I’ve had another one on the news that Ripper will be fronting a band along with Rudy Sarzo, Simon Wright, Craig Goldy, Scott Warren, and additional vocalist Toby Jepson called Dio Disciples.
Commented Ronnie James Dio’s widow and manager Wendy: “There will never be another Ronnie, but we want to keep his music alive and hope you will support the band and become one of the DIO DISCIPLES.
Ronnie will never be able to be replaced but in my opinion, Ripper is the next best thing and has kind of led a career in metal similar to Ronnie’s. Judas Priest was his Black Sabbath, Iced Earth was his Rainbow and Beyond Fear is his Dio.
