My favorite cartoon currently on TV is Batman: The Brave and The Bold. I love how it mixes the 50s and 60s style Batman with their modern counterpart.
It was supposed to be more light-hearted fare for the kids but it has had its grim side lately. In recent weeks they’ve had the Doom Patrol being ‘blown up’, the subject of Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle, being killed, the mention of Jason Todd’s demise and Batman being repeatedly killed by a near-omnipotent Joker.
I would even go as far to say the BBatB is even grimmer than BTAS.
