Phils announcer Harry Kalas dies:
As you get older pieces of your childhood start to die. I can’t remember a time where Harry Kalas didn’t call games for the Philadelphia Phillies. It’s one of the few things I miss about back home. After I moved to North Carolina if I heard him on the NFL Network or ESPN narrating one of the great NFL Films I would always stop and listen to the entire broadcast. It would make me feel less homesick.
I read a great quote on the internet today from some random Phillies fan and I definitely agree with every word of it. It said if I ever make it to heaven I imagine that God would sound like Harry Kalas.
